Guardiola has conceded the most goals and the fewest points in his managerial career in the league this season.

Manchester City have conceded 40 goals after 29 games this season, the most in a single season for Guardiola.

The previous highest number of goals conceded was 39 in the 2016-17 season when he took charge of City.

City have also won 29 of their remaining nine games, with 48 points, meaning they would only have a maximum of 75 points, making it the lowest-scoring season of his managerial career.

The previous lowest-scoring season was also their first season with City, with 78 points.

It was also the first time they have averaged just two points per game.

After the game, Guardiola said: “There are nine games left. Nine finals. We have to play until the last day. We have nine games left. It will be a tough game for us. It is very similar to Nottingham Forest. We didn’t lose this game. The goals weren’t enough to win. But it was very difficult until the end. The next game is at home to Leicester and then at Old Trafford. But we have to play Bournemouth in the FA Cup first.”

Manchester City’s remaining Premier League games are against Leicester (home), Manchester United (away), Palace (home), Everton (away), Villa (home), Wolves (home), Southampton (away), Bournemouth (home) and Fulham (away).
