(165) foreign nationals and one Myanmar national have been arrested for illegal online gambling and money laundering in Tan Yang Township, Shan State (North).
The government is working with the international community to identify and crack down on illegal online gambling and money laundering, and regional and state officials are working to identify and crack down on illegal online gambling and money laundering, as well as other crimes in their regions and states, and joint teams including security forces are investigating and investigating.
According to reports, illegal online gambling and money laundering are being carried out in Tan Yang Township, Shan State (North). On March (12), security forces conducted an investigation in Nahut Village Tract in the township and arrested (165) foreign nationals and one Myanmar national who were involved in illegal online gambling and money laundering. A 60-foot-wide corrugated iron hall, five 7-room temporary residential buildings, office furniture, two StarLink sets, 30 various phones, and five All-in-One computers were seized.
The arrested persons are being systematically investigated and legal action will be taken in accordance with the law, and the foreign nationals will be repatriated to their respective countries in line with humanitarian considerations and friendship between countries.
The government is investigating and taking effective action against illegal online fraud activities, and will continue to investigate and take action in cooperation with neighboring countries and international organizations to prevent and combat illegal online gambling and financial fraud activities in Myanmar’s border areas.
