Arsenal manager Arteta is delighted to have reached the Champions League quarter-finals for the second season in a row and believes he can beat Real Madrid.
Arsenal reached the last 16 with a 9-3 aggregate win over PSV Eindhoven, who will face the most successful team in the competition, Real Madrid.
Arteta guided Arsenal back to the Champions League last season and into the quarter-finals.
Arsenal were knocked out of the competition by Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals.
Now, after reaching the quarter-finals again, Arteta said: “We are very happy to have reached the quarter-finals for the second season in a row. It is a very difficult thing. It is the first time we have done this in 15 years, so we know how difficult it is. I have to give credit to my players for that. We have a lot more to do. I believe we have the quality to do it.”
Arteta also said that they are facing Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals: “We are capable of beating Real Madrid. But we have to be at our best. We have to be at our best in every minute of both legs. We cannot give them any chances because they are a team capable of taking them.”
