A person close to the Ngwe La Min phone shop in Pyinmana Township, Nay Pyi Taw, said that four members of the owner’s family, including two 1-month-old twins, and two employees died when the powerful earthquake collapsed.
“My friend and I were able to retrieve the dead bodies around noon on the 28th after the earthquake. We retrieved them and buried them all at once. There were two 1-month-old children, the owner, his wife, and two employees. It’s not enough that their shop collapsed. The tea shop next door collapsed on top of their shop, so it was covered with stone slabs, so people were hit,” he said.
There was a customer in the phone shop at the time of the earthquake, but he has not yet heard from the customer. There were also deaths at the tea shop next door, and he added that he wants the relevant authorities to correct the death toll.
A person close to the Ngwe La Min phone shop wrote on his social media page, “We would like to inform our friends and family of the passing of our best friend and closest friend. Out of a family of 5, the eldest is still alive because he went to KG school. Both the twins, who were only 3 months old, and his wife, have passed away. Ko Tun is a very kind and generous person, and he is very selfless in his relationships. Ko Tun is a very honest person. There are no lies or deceit in his dictionary. He loved his son very much. He still loves him. He has to leave. May Ko Tun and his family and staff rest in peace. May they continue their journey.”
The owner of the Ngwe La Min phone shop and those close to him have also written many condolences on their social media pages regarding the death of the Ngwe La Min phone shop family due to the earthquake.
