A passenger bus was swept away by the current while crossing the Sintewwa stream in Mandalay Region, and the passengers were rescued by locals.
The Sintewwa stream, located near Nat Khon village in Taungtha Township, Mandalay Region, is located on the Myingyan-Taungtha road. On the morning of May 26, a long-distance passenger bus carrying more than 40 passengers was swept away by the current.
“Luckily, the villagers helped rescue the passengers, children, and the elderly. No one was in danger,” wrote Aung Win Thein, who witnessed the incident, on a social media page.
The Sintewwa stream is a stream that locals must be careful crossing because the current is very strong when it rains.
