New Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti named his squad on the day he took charge, with Anthony Martial, Richarlison and Casemiro all included.

Ancelotti took charge of the Brazil national team on May 26 after parting ways with Real Madrid on May 24.

The Brazilian Football Confederation announced Ancelotti’s appointment as the new coach on May 12, before he officially parted ways with Real Madrid, but he only took charge on May 26.

Brazil will play two 2026 World Cup qualifiers in June, so Ancelotti had to choose his squad before he arrived.

The Brazilian squad selected by Ancelotti included goalkeepers Alisson (Liverpool), Bento (Al Nacer), Hugo Souza (Corinthians), Backs – Alexandre, Danilo, Leo Ortiz, Wesley (Flamengo), Ribeiro (Lille), Beraldo, Marquinhos (PSG), Augusto (Inter Milan), Van der Sar (Monaco), Le – Pereira (Fulham), Andres Santos (Straboe), Guimarães (Newcastle), Casemiro (Manchester United), Ederson (Atlanta), Jason (Flamengo), Forwards – Anthony (Betis), Esteban (Palmeiras), Martinelli (Arsenal), Cunha (Wolves), Rafinha (Barcelona), Richarlison (Tottenham), Vinicius (Real Madrid).

Ancelotti said he tried to select players who were in good form and left out Neymar due to injury.

Brazil will play Ecuador away on June 5 and Paraguay at home on June 10.

Ancelotti said he was not offered the Italy job because he was “very proud” to be in charge of Brazil.
