The daily meat consumption needs of over seven million people in Yangon Region should be systematically calculated and only when production and consumption are balanced will there be reasonable prices, said the Chairman of the State Executive Council, Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
On June 21, while inspecting the implementation of the Myanmar Economic Corporation, Shwe Pyi Agricultural and Livestock Zone in Hmawbi Township, Yangon Region, the Chairman of the National Assembly, Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, made the following statement.
It is necessary to systematically manage the meat, fish, eggs and vegetables produced in the agricultural and livestock zones to ensure that they are sold to the market in a timely manner. The implementation of agricultural and livestock zones in Yangon Region is to meet the daily meat, fish, eggs and vegetables consumption needs of over seven million people in the region. It is necessary to systematically calculate the daily meat consumption needs of over seven million people and to cultivate and produce to meet the needs of each zone. If the region can produce enough basic food products, it will also reduce high prices, said the Chairman of the National Agricultural and Food Security Association, Prime Minister.
Yangon Region needs meat, fish and eggs for daily consumption, and only when production and consumption are balanced can prices be reasonable. Therefore, meat, fish and eggs must be produced and consumed in a balanced manner. Similarly, fruits must be grown in abundance in our region. We also need to grow and produce enough kitchen crops, said the Chairman of the National Agricultural and Food Security Association, Prime Minister.
We want the people living in Yangon Region to develop livestock and agricultural activities so that they can buy and consume at reasonable prices. We need to distribute and sell the meat, fish, eggs and vegetables produced by agriculture and food security industries to the consumers as soon as possible. We are working to ensure that the people of Yangon Region can consume them in abundance. The Prime Minister, Chairman of the National Agricultural and Livestock Development Association, said that the main focus in agricultural and livestock activities will be to improve yields.
