1,000 kilograms of ketamine, a psychoactive drug worth over 8 billion kyats, was seized in Loi Lin Township, Shan State (South), Shan State (South).

A joint team of members of the Narcotics Control Police stopped a TOYOTA ALPHARD driven by Kyaw Akash and a TOYOTA ALPHARD driven by Thet Naing at the Loi Lin-Taunggyi Highway at Loi Lin Toll Gate at around 6 p.m. on April 13. The vehicle driven by Kyaw Akash fled towards Taunggyi and was stopped and arrested. The vehicle was stopped at the entrance to Cho Kham Village on the Loi Lin-Taunggyi Highway. The two vehicles were seized at the entrance to Cho Kham Village, and 1,000 kilograms of ketamine, a psychoactive drug worth 8.5 billion kyats, were seized from the two vehicles.

According to the investigation, at 11 a.m. on April 14, at Yan Law Village Tract, Kengtung Township, Yan Aung Kyaw (b) Aik Kyaw and Htun Ko Ko (b) Aik Lon, who were the main participants in transporting psychotropic drugs, were arrested along with a TOYOTA PRADO vehicle near Keng Fong village.

Investigation revealed that the ketamine was being transported from Kali, Kung Hein Township to Yangon, so they have been charged under the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Act, and the perpetrators of the series of crimes are being identified.
