A new case has been filed against 20 doctors, including assistant doctors, under Section 505(a) of the Criminal Procedure Code (CRC), in connection with CDM activities, MRTV reported on the evening of April 18.

The doctors were charged with inciting civil servants and health workers to participate in the CDM activities, participating in the CDM activities themselves, supporting the CDM activities, and supporting the CRPH, the statement said.

The doctors charged are eight assistant doctors from Taungoo General Hospital, six assistant doctors from Katha General Hospital, one assistant doctor from Sittwe General Hospital, two assistant doctors from Loikaw General Hospital, one assistant doctor from Thanbyuzayat General Hospital, and two assistant doctors from Kawkareik General Hospital.

The statement added that efforts are being made to arrest the doctors charged and that action will be taken against those found guilty.

The statement also said that the licenses of private hospitals and clinics that have licensed these doctors will be revoked, and that the owners of the hospitals and clinics will be effectively prosecuted.

In addition, 20 individuals were charged under Section 505(a) of the Penal Code on April 18 for inciting and inciting others to participate in the CDM movement, according to a state-run television news program.
