In addition, the four-story building of the intact Kantaw Mingalar building is used to treat cancer patients, and the 150-bed hospital built by the Ayeyarwady Foundation in the east courtyard is used to treat general patients. A 20-bed hospital has been set up to accommodate chronic patients, leukemia patients, and patients undergoing dialysis. Laboratory and X-ray rooms have been prepared, and about 700 beds have been prepared for temporary treatment. In addition, patients from 28 hospitals transferred from upper and central Myanmar continue to receive treatment. Arrangements have been made to accept outpatients during the Thingyan period as in previous years.
Outpatient treatment rooms have also been prepared to accommodate the increasing number of outpatients after Thingyan. We have prepared about 700 beds for inpatients, so we have enough coverage for the additional patients. In addition to the medicines provided by the Department of Health, existing medicines, and medicines donated by volunteers, all the medicines collected are prepared for continued treatment. Equipment has also been prepared, cancer radiation machines and dialysis machines have been repaired and are being treated.
Q. . How are you continuing to prepare for natural disasters, and what advice do you have for the people?
A. . Learning from this natural disaster, we will make the best use of our current capabilities not only for this earthquake but also for other natural disasters. Our manpower will not be reduced below this manpower. If necessary, we will ask the relevant authorities for the necessary assistance. At present, we have gained experience in working with existing manpower and aid groups. Then, we would like to report that we will use the best human resources and infrastructure available in the area where the natural disaster has occurred and respond in the best possible way.
