Manchester United goalkeeper Onana has responded to the boos by insisting he will not change his style.
Onana has been criticised by fans for holding the ball for too long and not passing it quickly.
Last week, Onana was also criticised for his hesitation in the Manchester derby, which meant he missed a few quick counter-attacking opportunities. He responded by saying:
“To be honest, it (the boos) don’t affect me. Because I make decisions to help the team. Sometimes I make the right decisions and sometimes I make the wrong decisions. When I feel my players need a break, I give them time. When I feel we need to increase the tempo of the game, I do that. But sometimes in the second half, if the opposition is very much in control and has more possession, I give my players a chance to breathe. I need them to do that. If the team needs to increase the tempo, I do that. I try to make the best decisions for the team,” Onana said.
