La Liga has appealed against a decision to allow Barcelona midfielder Dani Olmo and striker Pau Vitor to play until the end of the season.

La Liga and the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) rejected Barcelona’s request to allow Olmo and Vitor to continue their registration until the end of the season, after the club failed to meet financial regulations by the January 3 deadline.

However, Spain’s highest sports body, the National Sports Council (CSD), ruled last week to allow the duo to play until the end of the season.

La Liga appealed the CSD’s decision again on April 7, but a decision date has not yet been set.

Barcelona are selling the CSD seats at the Camp Nou stadium, which is being built, for €100 million to allow the duo to be registered until the end of the season.

However, La Liga announced that the agreement was not included in the financial reports submitted two weeks ago for the 2024-2025 season, and Barcelona responded by saying they were surprised by the disclosure of confidential information.
