The Golden Valley Warriors, including members of the assassinated Ambassador (retd) U Cho Htun Aung, have been arrested.
On the morning of May 22, 2025, Ambassador (retd) U Cho Htun Aung, who lived in Ward (5) of Mayangone Township, was walking with his grandson in front of his house when two men (under investigation) opened fire on him, killing him.
In order to prevent similar terrorist attacks from happening again, security forces have been investigating the perpetrators. On the day of the incident, it was learned that the bicycle used by the assassins was loaded onto a three-wheeler. Investigations revealed that on May 23, the three-wheeler driver, San Htet Aung (b) Bago (40), was arrested at the corner of Khine Shwe Wa (3) Street, Ward (l), North Okkalapa Township. The suspect was arrested at a house at No. (248) along with the bicycle used in the terrorist attack.
In addition, Win Thu (b) Kalalay (39), who acted as an accomplice in the terrorist activities, was arrested at a house at No. (233), Sein Chel Road, Ward (L), North Okkalapa Township.
According to the statements of the arrested persons, Myo Ko (b) Sai Ko Ko (b) Zin Min Htet (b) Lin Let Zaw (28), his wife Pyone Pyone (24), and daughter Lin Let Shwe (6), who were the fugitives who murdered U Cho Htun Aung on May 25, were arrested in Nyaung U Township, Old Bagan, and the driver Aung San Hein (25) who transported them and the liaison Nyi Nyi Hlaing (39), who arranged the transportation, were arrested in Mudon, Mon State.
