Germany coach Nagelsmann has warned his players that Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo is still a threat to their opponents and that they need to be careful with him.
Germany host Portugal at home on Wednesday in the UEFA Nations League semi-final.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of the match, Germany coach Nagelsmann praised the 40-year-old and said his team needed to be careful with him.
“Ronaldo has shown great performance for many years throughout his career. It is not normal to be able to perform at this level for so many years. He has scored so many goals and has had a huge impact on every team he plays for. Even though he is over 40, Cristiano Ronaldo is still a threat to his opponents. His goal-scoring ability and his heading ability are amazing. We need to be careful with him,” Nagelsmann said.
The UEFA Nations League semi-finals will be played in a single leg, with the winner of tonight’s Germany-Portugal match playing tomorrow’s Spain-France match in the final on June 8.
