A woman from Thitto Kyun Village, located on the Bilin-Taungsun Road in Bilin Township, Mon State, was shot and killed on the night of June 3, according to local residents.

The woman who was shot was identified as Daw Thita Moe (b) Kalama, 53, from Thitto Kyun Village, Bilin Township. She was walking from her home to the village market on the main road at 7:30 p.m. on June 3 when two unknown gunmen came on a motorcycle and shot her.

She continued, “The gunmen came on a motorcycle from the direction of Nae Phun Village and shot Daw Thita Moe. Then they rode the motorcycle towards Zout Sot village.”

Daw Thita Moe, who was shot, suffered a bullet wound to her right eyebrow, a bullet wound to her right breast, The local resident said she suffered one bullet wound to the right abdomen, one bullet wound to the right waist, and one bullet wound to the left waist, and died at the scene.

Daw Thita Moe (b) Kalama was a volunteer in the village, and it is not known which armed group shot her dead for what reason, according to local reports.

The body of Daw Thita Soe (b) Kalama, who was shot dead, was taken to a hospital in Bilin town by the local social assistance and rescue team.
