The special conferment ceremony of the honorary Doctor of Public Administration (D.P.A honoris causa) degree was held at the Yangon University Convocation Hall this morning (February 5) on Acting President Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Commission member State Prime Minister U Nyo Saw and his wife, Commission Secretary General Ye Win Oo and his wife, Commission members and their wives, Union Ministers and their wives, Yangon Region Chief Minister, senior military officers and their wives from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Yangon Region Commander and Deputy Ministers, Rector of Yangon University, specially invited professors from international universities, honorary professors, teachers, professors, senior military officers with Doctor of Science degrees, invited guests and officials.

At the graduation ceremony, the Rector of Yangon University announced the holding of a special graduation ceremony, and Union Minister for Education Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein read out the achievements of the Interim President and Chairman of the National Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing. The head of state was awarded an honorary doctorate at the special graduation ceremony held today. He said that the head of state was awarded the honorary doctorate at the special graduation ceremony held today because of his ability to lead and systematically manage the challenges and difficulties encountered during the political transformation process of our country. He said that he had to face challenges such as political pressure, economic sanctions, internal peace and national reconciliation efforts, and reforms to be compatible with the international community, as well as strive for the socio-economic development of the people, national stability, and the rule of law.

He said that the successful holding of a free and fair multi-party democratic general election, which the people have been eagerly awaiting, despite the challenges, is a milestone in the role of the Head of State in Myanmar’s political leadership.
