Two teachers and three students from a college of education were among the nine people who were abducted by the PDFs at the Pwint Tauk village boat dock in Setuttara Township.

Two teachers, including Daw Phyo Wai Wai Myint, a resident of Letpan Kyin village in Setuttara Township, four students from a college of education, two parents of the students and a local resident, a total of nine people, arrived at the Pwint Tauk village boat dock with their escorts on May 24 to go to Magway township when the PDFs arrived at the boat dock carrying small arms and threatened the teacher to perform DCS and the students not to go to school, before taking them to Magway village.

In connection with the above incident, security forces conducted necessary area security operations to rescue the kidnapped PDFs from two locations in Pan Ei village, about 24,000 meters north of Settuttara town today (June 8). Among those who were abducted by the PDFs from two locations, Daw Phyo Wai Wai Myint (Athaka Subdistrict, Ye Thaung), La/Hta Mu Pya

Daw Cho Thazin Oo (Mulun, Taung Han Daw), Ma Khin Moe Wai and Ma Nwe Nwe Hlaing, third-year students from the College of Education (Magway), and Ma Khin Su Su Hlaing, second-year student from the College of Education (Pakokku), were rescued by security forces.

The search is ongoing to rescue the remaining four people, a student from the College of Education, two parents of the students, and a local resident, and the security forces are providing necessary health care to those who were rescued.
