The Union Election Commission (UEC) announced on April 8 that 77 parties have applied for political registration with the Union Election Commission (UEC), and 56 have been granted registration so far.

With the general elections scheduled for December this year, the Union Election Commission (UEC) has announced on April 8 that those who wish to apply for political party registration should apply by May 9 to allow the Union Election Commission to complete the process of establishing and registering political parties, and to allow political parties to have sufficient time to conduct election-related activities/campaigns.

 

Following the UEC’s announcement, 77 parties have applied for political registration with the Union Election Commission (UEC) as of May 9.

As of May 9, 27 parties have applied to the UEC under Section 3 of the Political Parties Registration Law, and 50 parties have applied for continued establishment and registration as political parties under Section 25 of the Political Parties Registration Law, making a total of 77 parties, the UEC announced.

The Union Election Commission is reportedly continuing to scrutinize the application to allow the group to establish a party.

 

In addition, the UEC has so far granted registration to 56 parties.
