The Department of Road Transport has announced that electric vehicles wishing to register with a Yangon regional license will need an old vehicle deposit slip (Form-D).

In the initial registration of such electric vehicles (BEVs), according to the consultation of the previous Yangon regional government, which has been in effect since early February, 2018, only the vehicles that have been deposited with old vehicles with a Yangon regional license will continue to be applied according to the directive to issue a Yangon license. As a result, the Department of Road Transport has issued a notification that electric vehicles that want to register with a Yangon regional license will need an old vehicle deposit slip (form-d) with a Yangon regional license.
Currently, electric vehicles (BEVs) have arrived in Yangon and Nay Pyi Taw, and EV Charging Stations are being built as a pilot project at a total of 19 locations in Yangon, Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay and Yangon-Mandalay Expressway, and have been ordered to be completed by the end of March.
