Nay Pyi Taw Mayor’s Grand Thingyan Pavilion and Walking Thingyan Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony of Nay Pyi Taw Mayor’s Great Thingyan Pavilion was held on April 13 (today) at 9:30 a.m. on the eve of Thingyan.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Chairman of the State Planning and Administration Council, Deputy Prime Minister, Lieutenant General Gyi Soe Win, Member of the State Planning and Administration Council, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister of Defense General Mya Tun Oo; U Win Shin, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister of Planning and Finance; U Maung Maung Ohn, Union Minister of the Ministry of Information and Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Tin U Lwin, Mayor of Nay Pyi Taw attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony and dance performances were performed by Yam groups.

After that, the Nay Pyi Taw walking Thingyan ceremony was held today (April 13th) at 11:00 a.m. Union Minister of the Ministry of Information U Maung Maung Ohn and Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman Nay Pyi Taw Mayor U Tin U Lwin cut the ribbon and opened the ceremony.

The Nay Pyi Taw walking Thingyan festival has four zones, from near the Nay Pyi Taw Mayor’s Maha Thingyan Pavilion on Pyinmana-Taung Nyo Road to the intersection of the Municipal Guest House Road. The entrance fee for the walking Thingyan festival is set at 3 thousand kyats for adults and 1 thousand kyats for children.
