The experienced Malaysian Special Rescue Team SMART has started helping in Sagaing.

The SMART Team MAS-01, which was sent by Malaysia to assist in the relief efforts in Myanmar’s earthquake disaster, arrived in Sagaing within 24 hours of its arrival. Upon arrival, a relief base was set up and the team leader held discussions with local disaster relief management officials.

The SMART Team MAS-01 is a specially trained team that can carry out rescue operations in the two earthquake-hit areas for 14 consecutive days without any assistance from the affected country.

The team is also experienced in international relief efforts, including searching for and rescuing trapped people using special equipment, and the team also includes medical doctors and experts.

In addition, the team is carrying two 5-ton lorries, a Hi-Lexus truck, and about 30 tons of relief supplies.

AA Pharmaceutical Company’s Pacific AA Foundation is donating 250,000,000 kyats, including 550,000 kyats worth of medicines and medical supplies, to the earthquake-affected people.

Pacific-AA Foundation has been providing assistance since March 29 for the rescue, medical treatment, resettlement and rehabilitation of the earthquake-affected people, and has provided 19,500,000 kyats and 550,000 kyats worth of medicines and medical supplies, for a total of 25,000 kyats, according to the foundation’s statement.

In addition, Pacific AA Foundation is deeply saddened by the loss of lives and property of many people in various parts of Myanmar due to the earthquake, and Pacific AA Foundation prays for the speedy recovery of all the earthquake-affected people from their sufferings and is doing everything it can to help.
