Thai authorities raided a Myanmar Bar, a popular entertainment center in Maha Chai, Samut Sakhon province, and found drugs and ammunition, according to reports from Thailand.
On the afternoon of April 28, the Samut Sakhon provincial governor led a search operation at the center, which was coordinated by the Triad Task Force, the Ministry of Labor, the police, the military and other related agencies, according to Thai news reports.
Thai authorities found about 150 Myanmar migrant workers during the search, and found drugs hidden in a sofa in a bedroom at the center, as well as weapons such as knives, guns and bullets, but did not provide details.
The Happy Bar, also known as Myanmar Bar, in Maha Chai, is an illegal gambling establishment run by a Myanmar national and includes a restaurant, bar, karaoke rooms and billiards tables, according to Thai media reports.
The Thai government is working to ensure the safety of its citizens and to control illegal activities, and those arrested at the Myanmar Bar will be prosecuted, Thai media reported, citing Thai authorities.
The drugs, weapons and illegal items seized will also be used as evidence in the prosecution of those arrested, Thai media reported.
