Barcelona midfielder Padre has said he would rather win the Treble with the club this season than the Ballon d’Or.

Barcelona are currently top of La Liga, have reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League and the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey.

The 22-year-old Spanish midfielder has been in fine form for Barcelona this season and is believed to be on the verge of a treble.

Barcelona team-mates Fernando Torres and Gavi have both praised Padre for his performance and said he is the most deserving of the 2025 Ballon d’Or. However, Padre has said he would rather win the treble with the club this season than the Ballon d’Or.

“I would rather win the Treble than the Ballon d’Or. If I win the Ballon d’Or, I would like to win the same trophies with the team. Being in the final of the Ballon d’Or is my dream. But winning trophies with the team is more important to me. Right now, we can dream of winning all the trophies. But if we lose three games, we will be out of all three competitions,” Padre said.

Barcelona will face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League quarter-finals and if they win the quarter-finals and semi-finals, they will face Real Madrid in the final.

Padre said he would not be afraid of facing Real Madrid in the Champions League final. “If we meet Real Madrid in the Champions League final, we will welcome them. At that level, we don’t have to be afraid of any team.”
