Myanmar U-22 coach Kurosaki, a Japanese national, said his team has only been able to train with a full squad for about two years and the players are slowly getting used to the system.

Myanmar U-22 coach Kurosaki, a Japanese national, said, “The team has only been formed for about a month. The players have only been able to train with a full squad for about two years. My players are now gradually getting used to my system. We are aiming to win the SEA Games in December.”

Myanmar U-22 played two friendly matches against Hong Kong U-22 in Yangon on March 19 and 22 as part of preparations for this year’s international competitions, with both matches ending in a draw.

Myanmar U-22 and Hong Kong U-22 drew 0-0 in the first friendly and 2-0 in the second friendly.

The Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) appointed Japanese coach Kurosaki as the Myanmar U-22 team’s coach for the 2025 SEA Games in January.

Coach Kurosaki has been conducting preliminary selections for the Myanmar U-22 team since early February and has been conducting training camps since early March.

The Myanmar U-22 team has played three domestic friendlies before the friendly match with the Hong Kong U-22 team, winning one, drawing one and losing one.

The Myanmar U-22 team won 4-0 against Dagon Star United, drew 0-0 with Yangon Region, and lost 0-1 to the Myanmar national team in the domestic friendlies.

The Myanmar U-22 team will compete in the (33rd) Thailand SEA Games, the ASEAN U-22 Championship and the 2026 Asian Cup U-23 qualifiers this year.
