Ranjan, who was Manchester United’s interim manager for around six months, has said the club has a leadership problem.
Ranjan was Manchester United’s interim manager from December 2021 to May 2022, winning 11 games, drawing nine and losing nine.
Ranjan, who is currently in charge of the Austrian national team, also said that the leadership problem at Manchester United has been there since the departure of legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
“When Sir Alex was at the club, he brought in a lot of important people. When he left, those people left. I think there was a leadership problem from that time. Who is going to make the decisions? Are they the best people for the job? Even as a manager, it’s hard to say. It’s hard to bring in new players. You have people, but at the end of the day, it’s hard,” Ranjan said.
Rennes also criticised the £70m signing of Casemiro, who is now 30, and said that if he were the owner or sporting director, he would only invest in young players.
