The basic and advanced courses for young sailors will include the history of the Myanmar Navy, the independence struggle and the history of the Myanmar Navy, basic military and basic naval subjects, basic navigation principles, applied navigation and astronomy, navigation including GPS, basic naval signals and communications, basic swimming and rowing techniques, and the fourth week of the course will see the trainees from the (11) training camps gather in Yangon for a multi-camp meeting and subject-specific skill competitions.

In addition, study tours will be conducted to visit landmarks in the Nay Pyi Taw Council area and Yangon, study the Nuclear Technology Information Center, and study warships, as well as a waterway study tour to the Yangon estuary.

The basic and advanced course for young sailors (1/2025) will be taught for 5 weeks until May 23. These courses have been open since 1959 and have been opened and taught to a total of (5,750) basic and advanced naval youth trainees and trainees by 2024.

Similarly, the opening ceremony of the Basic Aviation Youth Course No. (1/2025) and Advanced Aviation Youth Course No. (1/2025) organized by the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence (Air) was held today (April 22) morning at 15 training camps including the Nay Pyi Taw Training Camp.

The opening ceremony of the Basic Aviation Youth Course No. (1/2025) and Nay Pyi Taw Training Camp was attended by the Chief of Staff (Air), Lieutenant General Zaw Win Myint, Deputy Ministers, officials from departments, officials from the Nay Pyi Taw Council area, senior military officers, invited guests, training instructors and trainees.

The Basic Aviation Youth Course includes courses on the history of aviation, history of aviation youth, principles of flight, RC simulator driving, RC aircraft/helicopter flying and basic military training (unarmed) will be taught. The advanced aviation youth course will include basic aviation knowledge, airfield procedure, RC aircraft/helicopter flying, flight simulator flying, basic military training (armed), freedom struggle and military history. Practical field studies will be conducted at the flight maintenance workshops of the Tatmadaw (Air Force).
