Acting President says that the rise in violence in Sagaing Region is fundamentally linked to lack of knowledge and skills
Acting President and Chairman of the National Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with departmental officials and town leaders in Homalin, Sagaing Region at the city hall today (February 15) to discuss regional development.

During the meeting, the Acting President said that although the Agriculture and Livestock Institute (Homalin) is open, there are few attendees and no attendees at all regarding livestock education, so there is a need to provide training in livestock education and provide human resources that can support the region’s livestock development. In order to market the agricultural products produced in the region, market research needs to be conducted to ensure that quality agricultural products are produced. To do this, educated human resources with knowledge of economics are needed. Economics should be taught at universities, He said that they are teaching in colleges, and that they are opening Polytechnic Universities in each region and state to enrich the human resources of technology.
In addition, it can be found that the increase in unrest in some parts of Sagaing Region is basically related to lack of knowledge and skills. Political differences should be resolved through political means, but they are carrying out violent acts. They are illegally extracting the country’s resources for their own benefit under the pretext of politics. Similarly, they are forcibly collecting money from local people and using it for their own benefit. As such activities are burdening the local people, they need to work together with relevant responsible organizations to fight them.
The Acting President said that due to the vote fraud that occurred in the 2020 multi-party democratic general election, they were carrying out their state duties in accordance with the Constitution (2008). The acting president said that the military had cooperated with the relevant governments for the benefit of the state during the previous two democratic terms. He said that since the time they served as the state government, they have set goals and will hand over the responsibility of the state to the winning party after the election process is completed.
