The Chairman of the State Administrative Council and Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with district-level officials and village heads in Sagaing and Mandalay separately to brief them on the reconstruction efforts after the earthquake.
The Chairman of the State Administrative Council and Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with district-level officials and village heads in Sagaing at the Ashankara Guest House in Sagaing and with district-level officials and village heads in Mandalay at the Mandalay Region Government Office to brief them on the reconstruction efforts after the earthquake.
The meetings were attended by members of the Council, Union Ministers, the Chief Minister of Mandalay Region, the Chief Minister of Sagaing Region, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the Commander of the Central Region Command and the Commander of the Northwestern Region Command, district-level officials and village heads in Mandalay and Sagaing.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister of the National Assembly said that the Mandalay earthquake in Myanmar caused a lot of damage and loss in Sagaing City and Mandalay Region. He said that he had learned lessons from the damage and loss caused by the earthquake. He said that he should identify these lessons and prepare in advance to minimize the damage and loss in the future. Although natural disasters cannot be avoided, prevention and preparation can be carried out. He said that he had successfully overcome difficulties when natural disasters struck his country.
He said that after the earthquake, he immediately inspected the Nay Pyi Taw Council area and made necessary preparations. After assessing the situation, he declared a state of emergency in the earthquake-affected areas. He immediately recorded a video message and informed the country and the international community. International aid was also sent quickly, and some of the trapped people were rescued alive. The Prime Minister of the National Assembly said that everyone worked together and came together to help us get back to this situation.
