14 more foreign nationals were detained for online gambling, online fraud, and other crimes in the Shwe Kuk Kol and KK Park areas of Myawaddy.
14 more foreign nationals who illegally entered Myanmar through border routes via neighboring countries including Thailand and committed online gambling, online fraud, and other crimes in the Shwe Kuk Kol and KK Park areas of Myawaddy, Kayin State were detained today (April 20).
The departmental joint teams are conducting the necessary personal information and records collection work to ensure the immediate repatriation of the foreign nationals who were detained to their respective countries, and Kayin State Minister for Social Affairs U Saw Htun Aung has ordered the necessary additions.
From January 30 to April 20, a total of 9032 foreign nationals who entered Myanmar illegally were identified and detained, and 7288 were systematically deported to their respective countries via Thailand in accordance with legal procedures. 1743 foreign nationals are ready to be transferred to their respective countries and are being well-maintained.
The 9032 foreign nationals that the state has identified and detained to date are from China, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Pakistan, India, Uganda, Ethiopia, Nepal, Thailand, Rwanda, Kenya, Kazakhstan, Cambodia, Ghana, Bangladesh, Japan, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Tunisia, Algeria, Congo, Cameroon, Uzbekistan, Nigeria, Kyrgyzstan, Namibia, Madagascar, Romania, Liberia, Russia, Philippines, Zimbabwe, The joint teams of departments will continue to work to identify and deport foreign nationals from Malawi, Sierra Leone, Burundi, and China (Taiwan) who are entering the country through illegal channels as soon as possible.
