England manager Thomas Tuchel has urged his players to be “very honest” with each other and to treat each other like brothers.
The German coach met with the England players for the first time on Monday night (March 17) and urged them to treat each other like American sports.
Tuchel will take charge of England’s 2026 World Cup qualifier against Albania on Friday (March 21).
He spoke about unity rather than playing style in his first meeting with the England players.

Newcastle defender Dunbar, who was called up for the England squad for the first time, said: “The manager told us we had 24 days to train before the World Cup. That’s not a lot. The first meeting was not about how we were going to play, it was about mentality. He told us to be honest and open with each other and treat each other like brothers.”
Dunbar also said that Tuchel wants his players to be treated like NBA players.
England have not won a major tournament since winning the 1966 World Cup.
Tuchel is therefore keen to help England achieve success in the 2026 World Cup.
