The Golden Prince Foundation (Myanmar) has issued a statement strongly condemning the actions that mock disability in the dance performances of the Aung Zambu Theatre Group and will take effective action.

The Golden Prince Foundation (Myanmar) said in a press release, “The actions that mock disability in the dance performances of the Aung Zambu Theatre Group that are currently circulating on the social network Tiktok have greatly affected the mental health and dignity of people with disabilities. The Golden Prince Foundation (Myanmar) will continue to take effective action against this incident.”
The Golden Prince Foundation (Myanmar) is an organization that works to help people with disabilities live independently and improve their capabilities.
Regarding people with disabilities, the Myanmar Film Association has also issued a statement saying that some performances have been found to be demeaning and mocking people with disabilities. The film censor board has banned actors from performing scenes that demean or mock people with disabilities. It has also issued a warning to film directors, scriptwriters, and actors to refrain from writing, directing, or acting in scenes that demean or mock people with disabilities.
Regarding this issue, U Myat Thu Win, Chairman of the Golden Prince Foundation (Myanmar), wrote on his Facebook page, “A request is not enough. We must give specific instructions and apologize and take responsibility.”
