Union Minister for Education Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein said that the development of vocational education opportunities for those who failed Grade-12 and those who completed Grade-9 but did not attend high school has been coordinated with relevant ministries.
He made the remarks at a coordination meeting held at the Ministry of Education Conference Hall in Nay Pyi Taw on February 18 to develop a vocational education framework that is consistent with the education system and to compile and maintain a record book to develop human resource development, job opportunities, and the emergence of skilled professionals in each sector.

The Union Minister said that a team will be formed to develop a vocational education framework that is consistent with the education system and to compile a record book on education reforms. In order to form such a team, the meeting was held in conjunction with the Permanent Secretaries, Directors General of the relevant ministries, and officials from the Ministry of Education to carry out the next steps. The Ministry of Education, in drafting the educational pathways for those who failed Grade-12 and the opportunities for those who completed Grade-9 but did not attend higher education, has drawn up the roadmap in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, and the Ministry of Science and Technology. The roadmap will be developed in stages for the next steps.
In addition, the ongoing educational reforms in education, such as Job Ready Skills, industry, agriculture, and livestock subjects, are being implemented starting from Grade-10. The relevant ministries are to compile and write the reforms related to education over the past five years. In writing the chart and report by ministries, a record book will be compiled to document the government’s educational reforms and the provision of employment opportunities in line with the educational standards. He said that the significant reforms in the education sector and the creation of employment opportunities must be included.
Then, Deputy Minister Dr. Zaw Myint explained the formation of the committee to draw up a vocational level chart that is consistent with the education system and to maintain the record book, and the committee’s duties. The Permanent Secretary and officials discussed the activities of each ministry, the points to be considered in drawing up a vocational level chart that is consistent with the education system, and the points to be kept in the record book.
