169 Indonesians, 19 Bangladeshis and 1 Japanese national who were involved in online fraud and criminal activities have been deported to their respective countries.

Foreign nationals who illegally entered Myanmar through border routes via some neighboring countries including Thailand and committed crimes including online gambling and online fraud in the areas of Shwe Kuk Kol, Mae Htaw Tha Lay, Min Let Pam and KK Park in Myawaddy Township, Karen State, are being systematically deported.

Today (March 18), 169 Indonesians, 19 Bangladeshis and 1 Japanese national, a total of 189 people, were deported to their respective countries through the Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Bridge No. 2 in accordance with the law and procedures, in the interests of humanitarian assistance and friendship between countries.

The Karen State Government, It is learned that Minister of Security and Border Affairs, Colonel Min Thu Kyaw, inspected the process of deporting foreign nationals to their respective countries and met with departmental officials to make necessary arrangements.

Then, the deportation ceremony was held and attended by the Karen State Government, Minister of Security and Border Affairs and officials, Consul General of the Embassy of Bangladesh in Thailand, Mr. Md. Fahad.Pervez. Bosunia and officials, Director of the Civil Protection and Relief Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, Mr. Judha Nugraha and officials, First Secretary Naoto Watanabe and officials from the Embassy of Japan in Thailand, and officials from the Immigration Department of the Turkmen Province, Thailand. Officials from Myanmar systematically handed over the documents related to the deportation to the officials from the respective countries.

Similarly, in Myawaddy, 180 Chinese nationals and 62 Ethiopian nationals who entered the KK Park area through illegal routes were identified and detained today, and the necessary personal information and records are being collected by departmental teams for immediate repatriation to their respective countries.

A total of 7,107 foreign nationals who entered Myanmar illegally from January 30 to March 18 were identified and detained, of which 4,191 were systematically transferred to their respective countries via Thailand in accordance with legal procedures. The remaining 2,916 foreign nationals are ready to be transferred to their respective countries and are being well-maintained.

The 7,107 foreign nationals detained are from China, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Pakistan, India, Uganda, Ethiopia, Nepal, Thailand, Rwanda, Kenya, Kazakhstan, Cambodia, Ghana, Bangladesh, Japan, The majority of the victims are citizens of Sri Lanka, South Africa, Tunisia, Algeria, Congo, Cameroon and China (Taipei).
