A delegation led by Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and a delegation led by Thai Foreign Minister Mr. Sihasat Phuong Kaew held a bilateral meeting in Phuket, Thailand today (February 18).

During the meeting, they exchanged views on further strengthening the existing friendship and cooperation between Myanmar and Thailand, and discussed ways to enhance cooperation in various sectors such as trade, investment, education, public health, and people-to-people exchanges, including Myanmar labor issues in Thailand, according to a statement from the Myanmar Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In addition, the two sides agreed to work together to combat illegal border trade, online fraud, human trafficking, and other forms of extortion for the security and stability of the border region. They discussed ways to further accelerate cooperation in combating illegal activities such as drug trafficking and cross-border crimes, and to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries in regional and international arenas.
After the meeting, the Union Minister and the delegation attended a working dinner hosted by the Thai Foreign Minister.
