Manchester City are keen on Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wertz as a replacement for veteran Belgian midfielder De Bruyne, 33, who is set to leave the club at the end of the season.
The 22-year-old has been linked with a number of top European clubs, with Bayern Munich and Manchester City the most likely to make a move.
Now, Bild reports that Manchester City have reached a verbal agreement with Bayer Leverkusen to sign Florian Wertz.
Bild reported that City have made a bid close to Leverkusen’s asking price of €150 million for Florian Wetz, with Leverkusen having agreed a verbal agreement.
However, City still need to reach an agreement with the player to sign Florian Wetz.
According to British media reports, City officials met with Florian Wetz’s parents in England on May 13.
