Since we were able to do that, we divided the patients who arrived in a hurry into three groups: those who needed immediate treatment, those who needed to wait a while, and those who did not need immediate treatment as outpatients, and we treated them together with the teams mentioned above. All the doctors and nurses on duty in the entire hospital worked together until nightfall, providing emergency treatment to all the patients who arrived according to their injuries.

Q. . Please tell us about the strength of the hospital buildings and the current situation of patient treatment after the earthquake.

A. . We have two ten-story wards in Mandalay Pyi Taw Hospital, one nine-story wards, Patients from high-rise buildings, such as eight-story, three-story, and two-story buildings, were first evacuated and temporarily cared for in the parking lots in front of the hospital, motorcycle parking lots, and the emergency department accepted them, and when the relevant patient wards were placed, they were not placed on the original large wards, but were placed in the two-story, three-story, and one-story special medical wards that were not damaged and were opened to provide treatment to patients affected by the earthquake.

Q. . Please tell us about the socio-psychological treatment of the patients who suffered from the earthquake.

A. . Since the earthquake has caused physical damage, the relevant doctors are providing treatment in different sectors. If necessary, they perform surgeries. Among them, some patients are mentally disturbed due to the earthquake. The Psychiatry Team from Yangon is also helping such patients. The team of doctors collaborated with the doctors in the emergency department to provide the necessary treatment and care.

Q. . Can you please explain the current status of cooperation between other international organizations and Mandalay Hospital?

A. . Like Nay Pyi Taw, we have also received international medical teams from Mandalay General Hospital. Russian medical teams, Indian medical teams, Singapore medical teams, Japanese (JICA) medical teams, and Chinese medical teams have come to us systematically and provided treatment in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Medical Services.
