The Traffic Police Headquarters (Myeik) has clarified that the reports on financial and women’s issues by some exile media outlets and social media outlets are fabricated news and photos created using AI.

A police chief from the No. 76 Traffic Police Headquarters (Myeik) has been found to have fabricated news and photos created using AI on financial and women’s issues on Khit Thit News and social media pages, and an official told Eleven Media on January 23 that the investigation into the incident revealed that the information was false.

“Chief Aung Aung is a traffic police officer. He sits in the office and supervises his duties. He does not go out on the ground. We are investigating and identifying those who sent false reports to some news outlets. It is fabricated news. The photo was also created with AI. During his tenure, two illegal cars were seized. Up to 27 illegal cars were seized with joint teams. Violating the rules of the motorcycle were also fined as prescribed. People who ride illegal vehicles and those close to them make up reports and send them,” said a police officer from Myeik.

Khit Thit news agency and social media pages reported that Chief Aung Aung of the traffic police is extorting money and soliciting women for sex.

“Women’s issues and extortion are not at all the same. I arrest illegal vehicles as prescribed by the state. I fine and prosecute illegal vehicles caught by the police in accordance with the law. I usually sit in the office and enforce the law. I do not ask for phone numbers from women who cannot pay the fine, I do not make up stories, and I do not abuse my subordinates. I always tell the police to keep the morale of the police, to be united, and not to get involved in financial matters, morning and night, to prevent the police from driving illegal cars and motorcycles,” said Police Chief Aung Aung of the 76th Traffic Police Headquarters (Myeik).

The relevant officials have announced that they are investigating the incident.
