The Italian veteran will earn €10 million a year as his new coach, with an additional €5 million if he wins the 2026 World Cup.

Ancelotti is under contract with Real Madrid until June 2026, but will leave the club at the end of the season.

He is the most successful coach in Real’s history, having won three Champions Leagues, three European Super Cups, two La Liga titles, two Copa del Reys, two Spanish Super Cups, two Club World Cups and one Intercontinental Cup.

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) confirmed on Tuesday that Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti will take charge of the Brazilian national team from May 26.

Ancelotti will become the first foreign coach in the history of the Brazilian national team.

Ancelotti, 65, has enjoyed two successful spells at Real Madrid, but has been linked with a departure since last season, and the team has struggled this season, prompting president Florentino Perez to make a change.

The Brazilian Football Confederation has been eyeing Ancelotti as coach since last year, and an agreement has now been reached.
