Chairman of the State Executive Council, Member of the State Executive Council, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Defense General Maung Maung Aye, who is on a goodwill visit to the Russian Federation, and accompanying the Prime Minister on his visit, laid a wreath at the Anyatara War Cemetery in Moscow this morning (May 8).
Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Defense General Maung Maung Aye, accompanied by Colonel General Alexander Fomin, Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, arrived at the Anyatara War Cemetery in Moscow and was welcomed by the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Mr. Andrey Belousov, and officials.
Then, led by the pioneer soldiers, the Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Defense laid a wreath at the Anyatara War Cemetery, along with the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Mr. Andrey Belousov, and other defense ministers from other countries.
In addition, the Union Minister met with the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Colonel General Alexander Fomin, at the Plaza Garden Hotel in Moscow this afternoon. The Union Minister was accompanied by members of the Ministry of Defense who were present at the meeting.
During the meeting, the Union Minister expressed his gratitude for the assistance received from Russia for providing emergency relief teams, health care teams, and humanitarian aid, including medicines, to the victims of the Mandalay earthquake that struck Myanmar.
Then, they discussed the status of cooperation in defense sectors between the two defense ministries and the two militaries, issues of further enhancing cooperation in the military-technical sector, issues related to military education, and ways to implement defense and security cooperation between the two countries.
