A senior Justice Department official has ordered more than a half-dozen U.S. attorneys’ offices to draft a plan to investigate a group funded by Democratic billionaire George Soros.

President Donald Trump has called for George Soros to be jailed. A copy of the official’s order has been obtained by The New York Times.

The order directs prosecutors to pursue as many charges as possible, from arson to providing material support to terrorism.

The Justice Department’s leaders are acting on the president’s orders, the order says.

The president’s order calls for criminal investigations into individuals or groups that have been damaged by decades of past practices designed to shield the Justice Department from political interference.

President Donald Trump has urged swift action against the president’s enemies.
