The statement was Kim Yo-jong’s second in more than a month.
Earlier in March, Kim Yo-jong condemned the arrival of a US aircraft carrier in South Korea’s Busan port and accused President Donald Trump of continuing the hostile policies of the previous US administration.
Trump became the first US president to meet face-to-face with a North Korean leader during his first term, and held talks with Kim Jong-un in 2018.
After taking office for a second term in January this year, Trump has referred to North Korea as a nuclear power.
North Korea has been ramping up its nuclear and military capabilities since the second summit between Trump and Kim in Hanoi, Vietnam, in 2019 failed.
Additionally, during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Pyongyang last year, Putin and Kim signed a mutual defense treaty, boosting military cooperation between the two countries.
