A car hit two people and then crashed into a utility pole in Chan Myat Thazi Township, Mandalay, at around 7:30 a.m. on November 9.

A MITSUBISHI CHALLENGER driven by a woman hit a motorcycle and a man parked on the road between 48th Street, 11th Street and 118th Street in Myay Nanda Housing Estate, Chan Myat Thazi Township, and continued driving, hitting a woman who was picking up trash on the side of the road, causing the woman to be thrown out. The vehicle then hit a utility pole, causing the pole to break in half and the airbag to deploy.

“The first person hit was only slightly injured. The second woman hit suffered a serious head injury and her left leg was also injured. The utility pole also broke in half and the airbag to deploy,” said a witness to the accident.

The woman with a head injury has been taken to the hospital for treatment, and officials are investigating and taking action.
