Thai authorities have arrested about 60 Myanmar migrant workers who were abandoned by human traffickers, with 35 children under the age of 18 among those abandoned, Thailand-based khaosodenglish reported.

On the night of February 10, in the Yin Si area of ​​Phetchabun province, Thailand, local authorities found the remaining Myanmar nationals hiding after receiving reports that two Myanmar nationals were begging for food, the report said.

The remaining 57 were found in the forest, lacking food and water, the report said.

They entered Mae Sot province via the border and were recruited by traffickers in trucks on the promise of work in Pattaya, Chonburi province, via Nakhon Sawan, but were abandoned in the forest, the report said.

In connection with this incident, two more Myanmar men and a woman were arrested on February 11, and they were also reportedly abandoned by human traffickers.
