The Chinese Embassy in Myanmar announced that on June 8, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the State Council and Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of China, and Mr. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, and Mr. Li Keqiang, Premier of the People’s Republic of China, exchanged messages to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Myanmar.

The message sent by Chinese President Xi Jinping stated that over the 75 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the China-Myanmar fraternal friendship has overcome difficulties and has become stronger despite the long period of time. The two countries have firmly adhered to the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and the Bandung Spirit jointly proposed, strengthened good-neighborly friendship and deepened mutually beneficial cooperation, firmly supported each other on each other’s core interests and major issues, and set an example of friendly relations in international relations.

In addition, in May this year, my friend and I met in Russia and reached important consensus on promoting the construction of a China-Myanmar community of shared interests. China attaches great importance to the development of China-Myanmar relations and is willing to work with Myanmar to make progress. We will take the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as a good opportunity to promote high-quality “Belt and Road” cooperation. We will jointly implement the Global Development Initiative (GDI), the Global Security Initiative (GSI), and the Global Civilization Initiative (GCI). We will strive to further deepen the construction of a China-Myanmar community of shared interests and bring greater benefits to the people of the two countries, according to the message from Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the National Security Council, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, said that President Xi Jinping’s historic goodwill visit to Myanmar in 2020 has opened a new page in the building of a friendly community between Myanmar and China. The timely provision of humanitarian aid by the Chinese government and people during the recent earthquake in Myanmar fully demonstrates the deep friendship between the two peoples, which is based on solidarity and mutual support.

President Xi Jinping and I had a fruitful meeting in Moscow and reached important agreements to deepen China-Myanmar strategic cooperation. We are grateful to China for its strong support for Myanmar’s peace, stability, national reconciliation and economic development.

We look forward to accelerating cooperation between the two countries in various fields and building a strong, stable, and stable China-Myanmar strategic partnership. The message expressed hope to build a mutually beneficial partnership.

Similarly, the Chairman of the National Assembly, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, and the Premier of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Li Keqiang, also exchanged congratulatory messages.
