Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez, who has returned to the undisputed super middleweight title, will fight American boxer Crawford on September 12.
Alvarez became the undisputed champion with a points victory over Cuban-German William Sargal.
The two men will fight for the unification of their titles at the ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on the morning of May 4, Myanmar time.
The fight will be a unification of Alvarez’s WBA (Super), WBC, and WBO titles and Sargal’s IBF title.
Alvarez is a former undisputed super middleweight champion who refused to fight Sargal in July last year and was forced to relinquish his IBF title.
Following the fight, promoter Taki Al-Sheikh confirmed that Alvarez will fight American Terence Crawford on September 12.
