American basketball legend LeBron James has admitted that he has not yet decided whether to retire next season.
The 40-year-old James made the comments after the LA Lakers were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.
The LA Lakers were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs after losing 1-4 to the Minnesota Timberwolves with two games left.
James is under contract until 2026 and his future will be decided in the interim.
“I don’t know. I don’t have an answer to that question. It’s going to be a sit-down with my family, my wife, my fans, and we’ll see what happens. And then I’ll have to decide for myself how long I want to play. Frankly, I don’t have an answer right now. So we’ll just have to wait and see,” he said.
James began his career with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2003 and moved to the Miami Heat in 2010. He then returned to his former team Cleveland from 2014 to 2018, reaching the playoffs in 2018.
He has won four NBA championships (2012, 2013, 2016, 2020) and four MVP awards.
