Members of a drug trafficking gang arrested in Mandalay Region and Shan State (South) with over 5.4 million methamphetamine pills worth over 8 billion kyats.

A joint team of members of the Narcotics Control Police, while waiting for information near Padummar Village, Taungdaw Village Tract, Kyaukse Township, Mandalay Region at 6 p.m. on March 15, headed from Taungdaw Village to Ywar Khainggyi Village, Myittha Township, and seized 23.9 million methamphetamine pills from 12 bags of methamphetamine pills carried by four motorcyclists, Ye Naing Oo, Aung Ngwe Moe, Tun Hlaing and Shai Ko Zin, on four motorcycles.

According to their investigation, at 7 pm on that day, Lum Zaw (B) Kop and Naung Shan Win, who were ordered to transport the methamphetamine pills from Ywanyang to Kyaukse, were arrested on a motorcycle near Han Myint Mo Village, Kyaukse Township, and Nyi Wunna and Thein Lin Kyaw, who were responsible for transporting the methamphetamine pills from Shan State (South) to Yangon Region, were arrested on a KLUGER vehicle near Le Gyi Village, Old Yangon-Mandalay Road.

According to their investigation, 30.9 million more methamphetamine pills were seized from 15 bags of methamphetamine pills hidden in a ravine in the forest near Ywanyang Township, Shan State (South), bringing the total value of the seized methamphetamine pills to 8.22 billion kyats.

According to the investigation, the seized ecstasy pills were ordered by Nyi Wunna and Thein Lin Kyaw from Aik Sai (b), Aik San (b), and Sai Naunt from Na Lom Village, Thipaw Township, to be transported from Shan State (South) to Yangon. Nyi Wunna and Thein Lin Kyaw ordered Win Min Htet (b) and Nga Ti (b) from Kyauk Gu Pyin Village, Ywanyang Township, to be transported from Ywanyang to Kyauk Si via the forest road. According to the chain of investigation, Aung Thura, who ordered 40 million ecstasy pills to be transported from Yangon to Mindon, was arrested in Nyaung Don Township, Ayeyarwady Region. He is a financial supporter of the AA group. According to his orders, Kyaw Khine (b), Kyaw Naing (b), Phyu Thi, Nyi San Aung, The National Security Agency (NSA) has announced that Aung Htun Lin (b) Nyi Nyi and Zaw Naing Lin repeatedly transported ecstasy pills from Yangon to Mindon.
