At least seven people were killed when a bridge collapsed on a railway line in a Russian region bordering Ukraine on May 31, officials said.
Authorities said the incident derailed a train traveling from the border town of Klimovo to Moscow, but gave no further details.
Videos circulating on social media showed rescue workers working to clear debris from what appeared to be a train belonging to the state-owned Russian Railways.
“Seven people have died after a bridge collapsed on a railway line,” said Alexander Bogomolets, governor of the Bryansk region.
At least 66 people, including three children, were injured, he said.
Moscow Railways said the collapse of the pedestrian bridge and the derailment of a passenger train were caused by illegal interference in transport operations.
The incident did not affect other train routes, the statement said.
