A student who was missing in Shwe Kyin Township and was about to take the 2025 Matriculation Examination (Grade -12) was found in a guesthouse in Nay Pyi Taw and was returned to his family today (March 18), said U Nay Myo Lin, Station Commander of Patta Police Station, Pubbathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.

“Now, the child has been returned to his parents. After seeing the news on Eleven Media, the relevant Shwe Kyin Police Station also contacted him. The child’s GPS also came to Nay Pyi Taw. When he disappeared near the Bawga Thiri roundabout, I contacted the ward leaders and instructed them to search for the child in the dormitories. After the exam, I instructed the ward leaders and ward leaders. Shwe Kyin Police Station also contacted us. While searching, we found him in a dormitory in our area last night,” said U Nay Myo Lin, Station Commander of Patta Police Station.

Maung Kaung Khant Kyaw, a student from Taghun Taing Village, Shwe Kyin Township, Bago Region, who will be taking the 2025 Matriculation Examination (Grade -12), was found in a hotel in Pyinmana when he first arrived in Nay Pyi Taw and then moved to a cheaper guesthouse in Pubbathiri Township when he was found.

U Nay Myo Lin, station chief of Patta Police Station, said, “The elders from Bago Region also reached out and contacted us. We also informed the relevant authorities when we found him at night. We called him back today at noon. His intention was to become a monk. His parents said that he used to worship Buddha and practice Dhamma. He was robbed of money and nothing else. He returned the phone and money he had with him. He has been safely returned to his parents. The relevant Shwe Kyin Police Station also accompanied him.”

When we learned about the missing Grade 12 student in Shwe Kyin Township, we contacted the relevant local police station and conducted a search in our area. The student was found, said U Nay Myo Lin, station chief of Patta area police station.

“We contacted the relevant Shwe Kyin police station officials and found him during the search. We found him after finding his pictures on Eleven, so we knew the boy, so it was easy to spread the word with our local leaders and local guards. We also contacted the relevant station and found him. He is a nationally-educated boy. He was not extorted, drugged, or anything like that. He came out to become a monk,” said U Nay Myo Lin, station chief of Patta area police station.

Maung Kaung Khant Kyaw, a Grade 12 student from Ta Khun Taing Village, Shwe Kyin Township, who was found in Nay Pyi Taw, was returned to his parents and officials along with over 1.7 million kyats in cash and a mobile phone. The motorcycle was also found at the bus station in Shwe Kyin where he had left it.
